Colorado’s 5th Congressional District, made up mostly of Colorado Springs, has never sent a Democrat to Congress. Not once since it first went on the ballot in 1972.¹ Democrats nationwide think 2026 is the year to break the trend, and they are spending like they mean it.
Their nominee is Jessica Killin, a former longtime lobbyist and Washington staffer who left Colorado after high school.²
Killin has spent the fall complaining about ads from the No Going Back PAC, a super PAC tied to President Trump’s MAGA Inc. The spots call her a “wealthy liberal lobbyist.” At a debate this month, she said U.S. Rep. Jeff Crank was “using Donald Trump’s money to spread lies about me.”³
Killin should count her blessings. The ads could be worse, if Crank weren’t a class act. Using a financial disclosure Killin certified in August, Crank or a PAC could tie her household’s income, which helps fund her campaign, to the lobbying firm that represents the porn industry’s trade association. That association is fighting age checks meant to protect children from porn.
What she signed
On Aug. 13, Jessica Willow Killin filed candidate financial disclosure No. 10075599 with the Clerk of the House, covering Jan. 1, 2025, through July 14, 2026. She signed it digitally, certifying it as “true, complete, and correct.”⁴
Most of what’s on it belongs to her husband, Rajeev “Raj” Date, who runs the venture investment firm Fenway Summer. In his Fenway Summer holdings, inside Fenway Summer Special Opportunities 2018 LLC, sits this entry:
FS Vector LLC. Financial services consulting. Washington, D.C. Owner: spouse. Value: over $1,000,000. Dividends: $100,001 to $1,000,000 so far in 2026, and the same range in 2025.
Killin put it on paper, over her signature.
What is FS Vector?
Killin’s husband co-founded FS Vector and remains a senior advisor there. The firm’s website says so and lists him as based in Washington and Colorado Springs.⁵ Since December 2022, the Free Speech Coalition has been its client.⁶
The Free Speech Coalition = porn
Founded in 1991, the Free Speech Coalition calls itself “the trade association of the adult entertainment industry based in the United States.”⁷ It fights for the producers, distributors, performers and consumers of porn. It is Big Porn’s big lobby, fighting every effort Congress attempts to protect children from the industry’s products.
Last year the coalition lost Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton, in which the U.S. Supreme Court upheld, 6-3, a Texas law requiring porn sites to verify users are adults. Justice Clarence Thomas wrote for the majority.⁸
Look at who stood beside the coalition in the lawsuit. Its co-plaintiffs included MG Freesites and MG Premium,⁹ companies in the corporate family behind Pornhub. In 2023, Pornhub’s parent company, Aylo, admitted in federal court that it took in proceeds from the GirlsDoPorn sex-trafficking operation, whose operators tricked and coerced young women into sex videos.¹⁰ That’s the company the coalition keeps.
What the coalition says about FS Vector
In March, the coalition’s executive director, Alison Boden, wrote about a lobbying trip to Capitol Hill. “Our delegation,” she wrote, “included performer and advocate Allie Eve Knox, Julian Corbett of the OpenAge Initiative, and our government affairs team from FS Vector.”¹¹

The target was the KIDS Act, a package of children’s online-safety bills the House Energy and Commerce Committee approved March 5. It folds in the SCREEN Act, which would require porn sites to check whether a user is a child.¹²
There it is in the porn lobby’s own words. The industry’s trade association walked a porn actor and the FS Vector government-affairs team, which pays Killin’s family, through the Capitol to fight age checks for children on porn sites. FS Vector, the firm Killin’s husband co-founded and contributes to the couple’s income, was directly involved.
What’s fair, and what’s not
Though Killin has long been a lobbyist, her husband is not registered as one. He isn’t named on any of FS Vector’s lobbying reports for the coalition, and the Colorado Sun reported he has never been a lobbyist.¹³ The firm’s government-relations staff does that work, and its federal reports describe it as helping porn businesses get bank accounts, plus “matters related to the First Amendment.” Killin’s husband’s stake is held through his investment firm, and House rules require a candidate to report a spouse’s assets.

Federal Election Commission records show Killin has given her campaign $632,433.¹⁴ Money is intractably fungible. A household that collects dividends from the porn lobby’s hired guns, and writes the candidate’s campaign checks, cannot pretend the two have nothing to do with each other. The porn lobby, by contributing to Killin’s family finances, helps fund her campaign.
Do not be fooled by Killin’s claim that she’s a simple hometown gal. She spent more than a decade at USAA, including as a lobbyist, then worked as chief of staff to three liberal members of Congress. She served in the Biden White House as a deputy assistant to the president and chief of staff to Doug Emhoff,¹⁵ Kamala Harris’s husband, who admitted in 2024 to an affair with a teacher at his children’s school during his first marriage.¹⁶ Killin knows exactly what the firm FS Vector supports, and no discoverable documentation shows her denouncing it or distancing herself.
She recently moved to the Broadmoor neighborhood. Joe Reagan, her primary opponent, called her a Washington insider who “bought a vacation home in the Broadmoor to claim residency.”¹⁷ If so, it’s a classic case of political tourism.
Colorado’s 5th is military country, also known as the Evangelical Vatican and home to Focus on the Family and the ministry’s 1,200 employees. It is home to parents already fighting schools that push gender transitions, and porn sites available to any child with a screen or a phone. The Free Speech Coalition exists to protect that industry — and its access to children — and it pays the firm that helps keep Killin’s household comfortable.
Killin is the definition of a Washington insider. Her associations show she has little in common with the values of Colorado’s 5th. Let’s not let a beneficiary of porn turn Colorado’s second-largest city from red to far-left blue.
