Stacy Adair has long been celebrated as an award-winning elementary teacher in Colorado Springs School District 11. As of this month, Adair is the victim of D-11 administrators who likely committed a crime in their zeal to enforce the false belief that humanity consists of multiple genders. Adair has given more than two decades of her life to students, most recently as an English language teacher at Wilson Elementary. Over the years, local media have celebrated her work. A city councilman publicly praised her.
Then she wore a T-shirt.
She wore the shirt at a pre-semester meeting with no children present, that stated a scientific fact. It said “XX ≠ XY.” The district treated her like a pariah for stating fact in lieu of fantasy.

The shirt came from XX-XY Athletics. It references the chromosomal reality that defines the two human sexes: XX and XY. No students were present. No lesson was disrupted. No child was “harmed.” A colleague or administrator decided the message was “offensive” and “anti-trans.” District officials, a week later, admonished Adair for the shirt. They told her it jeopardized the “educational environment.”
Adair was dumbfounded. Facts are facts. Teachers should defend facts, not political trends with no basis in science.
XX does not equal XY. Far from bigotry, it’s genetic reality. When school systems punish adults for stating that humans are a sexually dimorphic species, they are not protecting children. They are training children to distrust what’s true.
This is the predictable product of the Democratic Socialist movement’s control of public education. Schools long ago became indoctrination mills for the left. Officials who cannot defend the binary of male and female feel entitled to police the clothing of a veteran teacher at a closed staff meeting. This is the threatening reprimand of a professional who refuses to recite the party line on weird ideology in full conflict with science.
When adults in authority treat scientific fact as optional or hateful, they deliberately confuse children. It pits schools against families. It subordinates knowledge to political fashion. It shreds Western standards of evidence and free speech to compel affirmation of claptrap.
Most Americans support the message on Adair’s T-shirt. Multiple national surveys find that roughly two-thirds of Americans believe there are only two genders. I challenge any scientist to prove this statement wrong: “gender is determined at conception.” If that’s not true, prove it.
Colorado Springs media have largely ignored Adair’s story. The silence is not accidental. Most mainstream news corporations cower in fear of these conflicts. They know the left responds to scrutiny by destroying careers and businesses that remotely challenge the imposition of political lunacy. Better to look away than defend the truth and trigger the bullies.
Stacy Adair stands on a platform of irrefutable truth. She should sue District 11 for confronting her. The First Amendment protects a public employee’s right to speak on matters of public concern. Colorado law strictly forbids employers from interfering in an employee’s political activities.
State criminal statute § 8-2-108 states: “It is unlawful for any corporation, company, partnership, association, individual, or any employer of labor, or for any agent thereof to make, adopt, or enforce any rule, regulation, or policy forbidding or preventing any of his or her employees from engaging or participating in politics or from becoming a candidate for public office or being elected to and entering upon the duties of any public office.”
Statute § 29-33-104 extends this protection to public employees. It goes further by forbidding any retribution for a worker “speaking with members of the public employer’s governing body on…any matter of public concern.” Adair’s shirt, at a meeting that included her employers, exemplifies speaking with the boss about a public concern.
Scientific truth is not a disruption. Ideological enforcement against stating truth is the essence of disruption—and a crime.
The victim of this abuse ranks among the district’s highest-performing teachers. City Councilman Roland Rainey highlighted Adair last year, saying “She’s a teacher. She is in the district, and she’s doing some phenomenal things… those are the type of people in our community that make Colorado Springs special.”
The Teacher Freedom Alliance last year awarded Adair “Teacher of the Year” for “uncommon courage, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to put students first.”
If this is how the district treats an award-winning teacher who states a genetic fact, parents should ask what else the system plans to punish—and what other politically motivated falsehoods it plans to force on our children.
